About Ms. Ann
-Hi I’m Ann McGrath and I am so incredibly excited to be opening up my very own preschool here in Royal Oak. It has truly been a lifelong dream. I was born and raised in California where I started babysitting as soon as I was old enough. My first job in the child development field was leading the two year old class at a church for about five years and then I went on to work during the summers at a school age center for three more years. In April 2012,I started at a preschool in Chatsworth where I became versed in the different classrooms (both infant and preschool side). In August 2013, I became the head teacher of the three-year-old room and in 2014, I became the assistant director of the preschool. I graduated from California State University, Northridge in 2013 with a BA in Child and Adolescent Development and a BA in Deaf Studies with a concentration in Pre Deaf Education. In 2016, I started my own business teaching an extracurricular cooking class at the preschool I worked at to fight childhood obesity by teaching nutrition and basic cooking skills to empower them to make better choices early on in a fun and hands-on way. After I left the school in Chatsworth, I nannied full time for some amazing families. In 2019, I transitioned back to the world of teaching, and helped start-up a brand new preschool in Tarzana where I was a head teacher until I moved here to Michigan. I am passionate about being a positive influence and inspiring our future generations and I cannot wait to meet and work with all the new families!
